Exploring Portland Area, Oregon

Since I've been living in Portland, Oregon for over a year now, this post will be my collection/personal notes of all the places and things I like in this area. :)

(Last update: Feb 1, 2017)

The Pacific Northwest is undoubtedly great for its nature's beauty and hence photography :p One of the signatures of Portland is Mt. Hood. It can be seen from many different cities GIVEN that the weather permits. So when the mountain is out, we know the weather is great!

Another popular attraction that you definitely should not miss when you're in the area is the Columbia River Gorge. You will get great views of the Columbia River and get to see sooooo many beautiful waterfalls. One of which is the Multnomah Falls, which is the second tallest year-round waterfall in the US.

There are also many other falls in Portland area...

Silver Falls State Park:

Portland Japanese Garden (great year-round but this is during Fall):

Lavender Farm/Festival (June-July):

Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival (March-May):

As for downtown Portland, it's filled with beautiful art work...

And bridges...

And, of course, the iconic sign... :)

There're also 4 seasons with a not-too-brutally-cold Winter here. Below are Fall and Winter in Hillsboro, and Spring with Cherry Blossom trees by the Riverfront in Portland, and Summer hike at Angel's Rest. :)
